Cretaceous Amber with Feathers and Insects

Origin: Burma (Myanmar)

Age: ~100 million years, Cretaceous Period

This polished rectangular piece of Burmese amber preserves two fossilized feathers with exceptional clarity. One feather shows a striking red oxidation glow around its edges, while the other remains clear and unoxidized. Both are large and well defined, making this specimen outstanding under the microscope. This specimen is a world to explore under magnification. It is also very large and can be seen with a naked eye, if you want to just look at it without a microscope.

Additional inclusions are present, including a well preserved fly and other small insect fragments, along with plant detritus. The amber itself is a transparent yellow with excellent internal visibility.

Specimens of this type are rare, combining feather inclusions of significant size with insect fossils and superb preservation. The overall clarity and scientific interest classify this as museum grade.
