This authentic piece of Dominican Amber features a truly interesting interaction between two insects! There's an ant with a termite Wing in its jaws, which it must have been carrying at the moment that it became enveloped in Amber. There is another ant of the same species on the other side of the piece that that must have been alongside this worker. Insects and Amber are interesting for varying reasons, and one of them is the way that two species interact, because we can see how the species interacted millions of years ago before humans existed! This piece is a fine example of just that.

December is from the Dominican Republic and is 20 million years old.
