Probiscuses in Amber

Probiscuses are an insect mouthpart that is like a tongue. These are the best ones we have found in amber


1) Clear adult fly, possibly a male mosquito.

Origin: Dominican Republic

Age: ~15–20 million years 

Geologic Period: Miocene


This fly displays a clear long probiscus and two sheaths around it. Excellent wing display and veins.
