Hemiptera is a diverse order of insects. They all have 4 wings and sucking mouthparts. These are the best hemipterans we have found so far.
6) Adult hemiptera with clear legs and wings.
Origin: Dominican Republic
Age: ~15–20 million years
Geologic Period: Miocene

5) Perfect clarity hemiptera with long antennae and probiscus.
Provenance: Dominican Amber, Palo Quemado
Origin: Dominican Republic
Age: ~15–20 million years
Geologic Period: Miocene

4) Hemiptera caught in flight.
Origin: Hukawng Valley, Kachin State, Myanmar
Age: ~98–100 million years
Geologic Period: Mid-Cretaceous
This is a great display of all 4 wings on a hemipteran.
3) Large adult hemiptera with clear compound eyes.
Provenance: Burmese Amber (Myanmar)

This particular specimen has very large clear eyes, as well as wings.
2) Adult with large, bulbous compound eyes. Rare species. Unknown.

This unidentified hempiteran in amber shows very unusally large, round compound eyes.
