This Burmese amber with swarm of springtails inclusion preserves numerous springtails encased in Cretaceous Burmese amber, with visible body structures that allow direct observation of their morphology. Springtails are still living today and are common decomposer insects, swarm inclusions are significant because they document dense populations of soil-dwelling microarthropods and provide insight into the forest floor ecosystems of the Cretaceous period.
