Crane flies are the species famously used in Jurassic Park. But funny enough, they don't such blood. Nonetheless they remain the image in the minds of many when it comes to "mosquitos in amber." Here are some of the best crane flies we've found over the past 10 years of selling amber.

Origin: Dominican Republic

Age: ~15–20 million years 

Geologic Period: Miocene

Age: ~98–100 million years 

Geologic Period: Mid-Cretaceous
