Member Newsletter: March 2025

Welcome to the first official members only newsletter. We have a number of rare amber inclusions that we found this week, along with amber news and gossip! Buckle up!

This first piece was sold on our live feed at liquidation prices. This is a slab of amber from Myanmar, and is 100 Million years old, from the time of the dinosaurs. Upon looking closer, we found a tuft of mammal hair in the amber! This hair is likely from an animal that brushed up against the tree and its wet pitch, causing some hair to be pulled out. It is preserved in Museum-Grade quality. Can you believe this piece sold for only $20!?

This is the hair under the microscope. As you can see it is tough animal hair, much like we see today. Thicker hair protects mammals from the elements. The amber slab is very clear, yellow amber, making the hair very visible.

This collection of Mexican amber figurines was sold as a set and looks very pretty in its display case. We've just received a large order of display cases of various sizes so you can get your own now as well!!

Amongst all the pieces we sold this week, this piece of Dominican amber was the best of all the insect inclusions. It contains 5 insects, each a different species. The large termite on the right is preserved impeccably and looks fantastic under the microscope, as does the earwig on the bottom left. The crane fly on the top left is a rare species, found far less frequently. It is the same species they used in Jurassic Park. Fun fact! This piece contains a spider as well. AMBER NEWS: We have our first shipment of raw Baltic amber coming in any day now, and it will be available on next week's live. This is our first time buying directly from the Ukrainian amber mines, so we have gotten a better deal than before and prices will be cheaper than they were years ago!! Baltic amber also includes rare colors, such as royal white, that we have never featured on our live stream before.

We have given our Mexican amber carver a budget, and he is making 10 Mayan figurines with the money. They will each be large, and cost around $200 each. These carvings are unique and you will only find them here!! Photos of these pieces will be in the next newsletter, because they haven't arrived yet. But they are arriving soon. And last but not least, LOTS OF JEWELRY coming in the near future!!! You guys spoke, we listened. More jewelry! Rings and pendants with insects will be here within a few months, and green Mexican amber jewelry will be here soon. AMBER GOSSIP: We had a "breakup" with our Dominican amber dealer. Many of you may have received DM's from him. He had been trying to steal my customers from our live feed shows, and had been dishonest in a number of dealings. I finally had a conversation with him that came to a head last week, and I told him I will never buy from him again. It's too bad for him, because i was his biggest (if not only) customer and we could have done great business together. But dishonesty has a price, and I will no longer do business with him. On the other hand, we have started business with another Dominican Dealer who seems to have better quality product than our previous guy. He also has his own workshop, in his house, which is a great sign. We have opened one package from him last week and it had some incredible pieces. So our Dominican supply will be improving!!
