This Indonesian blue amber represents fossilized amber from the Miocene epoch, approximately 20–23 million years old. The specimen displays a natural blue fluorescence under sunlight or UV light, a characteristic feature of blue amber from Sumatra. Indonesian amber is significant because it provides insight into tropical forest ecosystems of Southeast Asia during the Neogene period.
