This Burmese amber with Blattodea and Ixodida inclusions preserves a fossil cockroach and tick encased together in Cretaceous Burmese amber, approximately 100 million years old. Cockroaches belong to the order Blattodea and are characterized by their flattened bodies, long antennae, and specialized legs. Ticks belong to the order Ixodida, a group of parasitic arachnids that feed on the blood of vertebrate hosts. This specimen provides insight into the diversity of ancient arthropods and their ecological roles within prehistoric forest ecosystems during the age of dinosaurs.
