This Burmese amber piece from the Cretaceous period about 99 million years old contains a swarm of flying insects mostly mosquito hawks and mosquitoes along with a very clear ant and a beetle. The golden resin preserves each specimen in remarkable detail from the delicate wings of the mosquitoes to the segmented body of the ant and the hardened elytra of the beetle offering a vivid snapshot of prehistoric forest life in ancient Myanmar.
